To Lee, With Love, Nick

I think everyone needs to watch this.

Lee Alexander McQueen, 1969 – 2010
'This film is my way of speaking about a very unique and important person who changed my life. My desire was to speak in some way about the dark and the light contained within Lee, and within us all.'
Nick Knight

"Seeing comes before words. The child looks and recognizes before it can speak."

We never really know the relationship betweeen seeing and knowing. The explanation, the words, never quite fit the view.

And the way we see is effected by what we know or believe.

The key of dreams, Margritte, 1898-1967

And after cameras were invented & the picture is taken, the whole uniqueness is taken away altogether. Meanings are changed & a new ownership evolves.

Think about it...

Look at this picture,

Now look again...

This is the last picture Van Gough painted before he killed himself.

Now the meaning of the picture to you has changed, even if it is only slightly.

And now the true meaning of this painting has changed again, just from me writing this post & from the way I have written it. And so it will again, and again, and again...

Think about what you see & try to find something that is still true.
"And hold on to it."

I Want Lanvin Not Diamonds

Lanvin for H&M
Regent Street

People definitely get vicious when they want something...
Okay so it was hectic, but definitely worth it.

"Imperfection is beauty,
maddness is genius,
&
its better to be absolutely ridiculous than
absolutely boring!"

Marilyn Monroe

Cute

I don't usually blog about myself BUT I found this in a charity shop for £4.

You mean that much to me

And it's hard to show
Gets hectic inside of me
When you go

Can I confess these things to you
Well I don't know
Embedded in my chest
And it hurts to hold

I couldn't spill my heart
My eyes gleam looking in from the dark
I walk out in stormy weather

Hold my words, keep us together
Steady walking but bound to trip
Should release but just tighten my grip

And when the day come
It will have all been fun
We'll talk about it soon
